30th January 2013

The state financing of the education sphere was increased to 1.3 trillion tenge or 4.2% of the GDP per year in Kazakhstan, Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Zhumagulov told at today’s media briefing of the Central Communications Service of Kazakhstan.

“Kazakhstan has increased financing of education to 1.3 trillion tenge or 4.2% of the GDP since the adoption of the State Program of Education Development or over 2.5 years,” B.Zhumagulov said.

According to the Minister, this is a good indicator as long as in the OECD member states this indicator reaches 5-6% of the GDP, the official website of Prime Minister reports.
“99.8% of the allocated budget funds were disbursed in 2012. This is the best indicator for the period of functioning of our ministry,” the Minister added.

The exchange rate is 150.76 tenge per $ 1.
